In 1996 Murray came to the decision to embark on a new career path, and attended Grant MacEwan University for 4 years of night school while raising his family. There he received his Certified Financial Planner Designation, his Canadian Securities Course, Life Level 1 and Level 2, as well as his Accident and Sickness Licences.
He began his new career in the Financial Services Industry in the year 2000, and in 2003 he started St. Albert Financial Corporation.
For the last 20 years Murray has been volunteering his time to Minor Hockey.
